Yves Simard, r\u00e9sidant \u00e0 Commequiers, tr\u00e8s \u00e9rudit, notamment sur l\u2019histoire vend\u00e9enne, donnera une conf\u00e9rence \u00e0 ce sujet. Il \u00e9claire le contexte de quelques pr\u00e9cisions<strong>\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Gilles de Retz (ou de Rais), grand seigneur r\u00e9gnant sur un vaste territoire, fut un compagnon de Jeanne d\u2019Arc. Cette derni\u00e8re est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme ayant repris Orl\u00e9ans aux Anglais, mais elle \u00e9tait le drapeau tandis que Gilles de Retz \u00e9tait le sabre avec son arm\u00e9e. Puis ce dernier bascula dans l\u2019obscurantisme, sacrifiant de nombreux enfants, notamment au ch\u00e2teau de Tiffauges, car il pr\u00e9tendait faire de l\u2019or avec du sang. Ses atrocit\u00e9s n\u2019en sont pas rest\u00e9es l\u00e0, si bien qu\u2019il fut arr\u00eat\u00e9, jug\u00e9 et ex\u00e9cut\u00e9. Le peuple n\u2019avait rien contre lui. La vie ne comptait gu\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, mais consid\u00e9rait qu\u2019il \u00e9tait sous l\u2019emprise du diable dont ils se d\u00e9barrassaient ainsi et assuraient la victoire de
