En mai 2014, un petit groupe d’habitants s’intéresse à l’Histoire de St-Hilaire-de-Riez..
Cette assemblée a constitué le fondement d’une nouvelle association :« Histoire, Culture et Patrimoine du Pays de Rié »

En 2025, l’association étend son champ d’activités à l’ensemble du Pays de Saint-Gilles, et devient Histoire, Culture et Patrimoine des Pays de Rié et de Vie (HCPPRV) . Chaque mot implique un champ d’actions couvrant l’ensemble territoire de l’ancienne Isle de Rié.

L’association contribue à la valorisation et à la sauvegarde du patrimoine historique, matériel et immatériel des Pays de Rié et de Vie, au moyen de recherches, publications, expositions et de toute autre activité culturelle.  (Conformément à la convention de l’UNESCO de 2003)

Tout au long de l’année, différents aspects historiques, culturels et sociaux sont proposés tels que :
– appréhender les personnages qui se sont distingués, au travers de hauts faits de son histoire,
– découvrir la toponymie de ses lieux-dits,
– connaître et préserver le patrimoine de la Belle Époque des Bains de Mer,
– comprendre le patois local maraîchin du pays de Rié,
– explorer la généalogie des personnages célèbres du territoire ou celle des adhérents

Les Ateliers,  Conférences, Expositions, Films ou Publications sont accessibles à tous les publics.

In May 2014, a small group of residents took an interest in the history of St-Hilaire-de-Riez. This gathering laid the foundations for a new association: “Histoire, Culture et Patrimoine du Pays de Rié” (History, Culture and Heritage of the Rié Region).

In 2025, the association expanded its scope of activities to cover the entire Pays de Saint-Gilles region, becoming Histoire, Culture et Patrimoine des Pays de Rié et de Vie (HCPPRV) . Each word implies a scope of action covering the entire territory of the former Isle de Rié.

The association contributes to the promotion and preservation of the historical, tangible and intangible heritage of the Pays de Rié and Vie regions through research, publications, exhibitions and other cultural activities. (In accordance with the 2003 UNESCO Convention)

 Throughout the year, various historical, cultural and social aspects are explored, such as:

– learning about notable figures who have distinguished themselves through significant events in its history,
– discovering the toponymy of its localities,
– learning about and preserving the heritage of the Belle Époque of sea bathing,
– understanding the local Maraîchin dialect of the Rié region,
– exploring the genealogy of famous figures from the region or that of members.

 Workshops, conferences, exhibitions, films and publications are accessible to all audiences.
